GENERAL INFORMATION
The 2010 Florida Essence state pageant will not be held this year. The state director, Dr. Jana Murrell, will be away overseas on a medical mission trip and is unable to devote adequate time to recruit, organize and produce the pageant this year.

Representatives that wish to compete at the National Essence Pageant on behalf of the state of Florida will be appointed on a first come first serve basis. Please contact the state pageant office, or the National office to inquire about becoming an appointed state queen at this years National Essence Pageant in Washington, DC.
We will still produce our Princess Pageant for 2012, however it will be later in the year, after the National Essence Pageant takes place. The Princess Pageant will still be held at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel. The date will be announced on the website once finalized.
We will definitely miss having the state pageant this year as we have had such success in the past. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

AREAS OF COMPETITION
Personal Interview Competition (1/3)
Miss Florida Essence/ Miss Florida Teen Essence/ Mrs. Florida Essence must be articulate and possess inner beauty, as well as outer beauty. They must have a sense of
confidence and purpose, and be able to communicate effectively.•Personal interviews are conducted panel style, and are five (5) minutes in length.
•Attire: Dress, skirt suit, pantsuit, etc.
•Questions will be asked from the delegate’s bio sheet and/or any topic of the judges’ choosing.
•Delegates will not be asked questions of a controversial nature. However, the interview may include questions about current events and other timely topics.
•Judging Criteria: Personality, communication skills, character, image projection and fashion sense.
Swimsuit/Fitness Competition (1/3)
Our titleholders must exemplify the physically fit modern woman. They must exude confidence, enthusiasm and graceful carriage on stage.
•Swimsuits may be a one-piece or two-piece. (Teen and Miss)•All swim wear must be in good taste. No thongs are allowed.
•Mrs. contestants will compete in Fitness wear
•Judging Criteria: Overall fitness and muscle tone, proportion, beauty of face and figure, poise, eye contact, grace and fashion sense
Evening Gown Competition (1/3)
Florida Essence titleholders must project grace, style and sophistication. Gown choice should reflect individual personality and style. Judges are focusing on the woman in the gown, not the gown on the woman.
•Gown must be floor length. •Judging Criteria: Overall appearance, beauty, poise, stage presence, grace, fashion sense and delegate's ability to project comfortable elegance.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The Florida Essence Pageant is committed to giving back to the community and doing our part to help make the world a better place. Missionary work is vital for the people and the community being cared for, as well as for the missionary volunteers themselves to grow and develop personally. Each delegate is asked to bring a minimum of 5 items to donate to missionary needs. We will be donating our combined goods to Lewis Transitional Homes, Inc to support their missionary efforts. See Community Involvement page for more details.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Each delegate must be of good moral character having never committed a public act that is not consistent with the highest standards of moral integrity. She must not have appeared nude in print, film, or life, or participated in any lewd or provocative public acts or behaviors.
REFUND POLICY
Any and all fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This includes any and all fees paid by the delegate or by anyone on behalf of the delegate.
