2012 Florida Essence Pageant
The 2010 Florida Essence state pageant will not be held this year. The state director, Dr. Jana Murrell, will be away overseas on a medical mission trip and is unable to devote adequate time to recruit, organize and produce the pageant this year.
Representatives that wish to compete at the National Essence Pageant on behalf of the state of Florida will be appointed on a first come first serve basis. Please contact the state pageant office, or the National office to inquire about becoming an appointed state queen at this years National Essence Pageant in Washington, DC.
We will still produce our Princess Pageant for 2012, however it will be later in the year, after the National Essence Pageant takes place. The Princess Pageant will still be held at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel. The date will be announced on the website once finalized.
We will definitely miss having the state pageant this year as we have had such success in the past. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
Princess Pageant
Girls ages 12 and under are eligible to participate in the Florida Essence Princess Pageant. This program is all about positive reinforcement for our girls, encouraging them to be their selves and offering them a chance to be on stage, learn about friendship, helping others, self confidence, and inner beauty. Everybody wins in our Princess program!
Areas of Participation:
Opening number- The Princesses will be a part of the pageant's Opening number routine and each one will introduce herself on stage. Attire: White dress (Accent colors are ok, try to select a dress that is overall white. It can be short or long. The girls will be dancing in this dress, so make sure she is able to move easily.)
Creative Characters- Participants model their outfit/costume representing a character from their favorite book or movie. She will say a brief (1-3 sentences) statement about why the character she chose is her favorite. Have fun with this one! Example: Spider outfit.-"My favorite book is Charlotte's Web because I like animals."
Princess Attire- Girls will put on their favorite dress! Each girl will wear a dress of her choice that makes her feel like a Princess. Ball gown/church dress/party dress (no tiaras please, we will provide those).
An adult will carry or accompany babies and toddlers on stage and perform all speaking roles for their little Princesses.
The Princess Pageant will be held in conjunction with the Florida Essence Pageant.
Entry fee: $75
All Princesses will receive Princess gift bag, trophy, Sash, and will be crowned with their very own Tiara!
